North Canterbury Basketball is thrilled to announce the opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our coaching staff for the U13 Regional teams. We are seeking expressions of interest for the positions of Head Coach and Assistant/Development Coach for these teams.
U14 Regionals will be held in Ashburton on the 9th - 12th October with the teams traveling on the morning of the 9th and back on the 12th. Teams will be staying in Ashburton for the duration of the tournament. Once teams have been selected from trials held on the 23rd July, and potentially also the 30th July they will have nine Sunday 1.5hr training sessions in preparation for the tournament.
As a coach for North Canterbury Basketball, you will play a crucial role in the development of young basketball talents, fostering their skills, teamwork, and love for the game. This is an excellent opportunity for coaches who are committed to nurturing the next generation of basketball stars and helping them reach their full potential.

Head Coach:
Lead and oversee the U14 Regional team's training sessions, practices, and games.
Develop strategic game plans and provide tactical guidance during matches.
Mentoring and guiding assistant coaches, fostering their growth and development.
Building a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship and respect.
Collaborate with the North Canterbury Basketball administration to ensure the smooth operation of the team.
Assistant/Development Coach:
Assist the Head Coach in organizing and conducting training sessions.
Provide individual and group skill development sessions to enhance player abilities.
Support the Head Coach during games, offering insights and suggestions.
Foster a positive learning environment that encourages player growth and teamwork.
Collaborate closely with the coaching staff to align coaching strategies and goals.
Previous coaching experience, preferably with youth basketball.
Strong knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and player development techniques.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Passion for mentoring and motivating young athletes.
Willingness to commit to regular training sessions, games, and tournaments.
Relevant coaching certifications (preferred but not mandatory).
