4D FREIGHT THURSDAY & FRIDAY NIGHT BASKETBALL 

This year we have over 100 teams from North Canterbury primary schools playing on Thursday and Friday nights

Participating teams come from all over the local area which includes Kaiapoi, KJBC, Rangiora, Oxford, Loburn, Sefton, Ashley, Leithfield, Fernside, Ōhoka, Amberley, Ashley, Pegasus, Cust, Clarkville, Cheviot, Amuri, Broomfield, Greta Valley, Omihi, Swannanoa, Waipara and Woodend, Hurunui, Waipara.

These players are the foundation which feed into our representative and community program’s and is the backbone to North Canterbury Basketball Association.

If you are interested in becoming a referee for FNBB please fill in the Referee FNBB form 

There are two seasons of competitions annually:

• A 6-week competition in Term 1 (February – March)
• A 10-week competition in Terms 3 and 4 (September – November / December) with no games in the term holidays)

February - 13th, 20th, 27th

March - 6th, 13th, 20th 

Term 4 Friday Dates 2026 - 5v5 yr 7&8 (Mainpower & KHS)

September - 11th, 18th, 25th

October - 16th, 30th

November - 6th,  20th, 27th

December - 4th, 11th

• Please note there are no games on the following days:

• During the school holidays,
• 23rd October (Friday before Labour Day)
• 13th November (Canterbury Show day).
