North Canterbury Basketball Association Appoints Anna Bourke as General Manager

The Board of North Canterbury Basketball Association (NCBA) is proud to announce the appointment of Anna Bourke as its new General Manager. Anna brings a wealth of passion, administrative expertise, and leadership to the role, having recently been recognised as part of Basketball New Zealand’s Emerging Leaders programme.

"Anna is deeply connected to our community and ideally placed to lead a thriving organisation in a sport with a proud history in our region dating back to 1981," says Pax O'Dowd, Chairperson of the NCBA Board. "She brings the vision, energy, and leadership needed to guide us into our next chapter, and the Board is delighted to welcome her to the helm."

For Anna, taking on the leadership role is an honour and an exciting opportunity to build on the region's strong sporting foundations while celebrating what makes North Canterbury unique.

"Basketball is experiencing tremendous growth locally and nationally, but what makes our region truly special is its people and connection," says Anna. "We have an amazing basketball community built on strong relationships and a genuine willingness to support one another."

With a firm focus on nurturing local talent and expanding opportunities across all levels of the game, Anna is eager to hit the ground running.

"My priority is to build on those strong local connections while continuing to support the people who make our game possible, and continuing to develop opportunities for players, coaches, officials, whānau and volunteers across the region.

"I'm incredibly excited to be stepping into this role and excited for what lies ahead and connecting with the wider basketball whānau as we foster even greater growth."
