Job Opportunity: General Manager – North Canterbury Basketball Association
The North Canterbury Basketball Association (NCBA) is seeking a skilled and passionate General Manager to lead our successful basketball association based in Rangiora. Following significant progress in recent years, we are looking for an experienced senior manager to continue driving our growth, building community relationships, and overseeing operations.
Position Overview
Role Type: Full-time (40 hours per week, with occasional weekend work)
Remuneration: $90,000 p.a. + sponsored vehicle
Location: Rangiora, Canterbury
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
Management & Leadership: Senior management experience within Not-for-Profit (NFP) environments, backed by strong time management and administration skills.
Financial Management: Sound working knowledge of management accounting practices, with Xero proficiency preferred.
Funding & Sponsorship: Proven success securing community grants, managing funding applications, and building corporate sponsorship relationships.
Community Engagement: Excellent communication and networking skills, with deep familiarity with the local sports landscape (basketball coaching experience preferred).
Digital & Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram), website management, and Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Forms).
