8 North Canterbury Tamariki to attend BBNZ U14 Camp

North Canterbury Basketball is excited to see 8 young NC tamariki selected to take part in the Basketball New Zealand U14 National Development camp, to be held in Rotorua in April.

The opportunity for these players to continue and grow in their basketball development by training and learning alongside players from all over the country is immense. The live-in camp format also enables the players to meet like-minded people from all over the country, and form friendships on and off the court.

Not only are athletes being exposed to this environment, NC u17 Rep coach Cam Wilson will also be attending the boys camp. This opportunity will further provide learning experiences for him as he continues his on-going growth and development as a coach.

Having athletes involved in the u14 camp is a great reflection of all the hard work our youth coaches, schools and of course the players themselves, are putting in across the region.

The 8 NC players are part of a wider age-group of NC players which saw 70 boys and 25 girls part take in u13 basketball in 2020. A huge growth from 2018 when we only had 25 boys and 20 girls involved. The continued growth of player numbers has created a quality training and learning enivornment within our programs and teams, which is enabling players to reap the benefits of.

We wish everyone the best of luck at the camps.
