Mainlands 2022

In 2022 NCBA is sending 1 U15 Girls team, 2 U15 Boys teams, and 1 U18 Men's team to the Mainlands Tournament.

The tournament is being run by the CBA and hosted at the Selwyn Sports Centre in Rolleston on July 16-18.


Day Two and Three are a wrap at the Mainlands tournament!


The U15 Girls started off their day 2 off with.a bye then went on to play Otago in the semi final where they lost a close game 41-50. The girls then played off for 3rd and 4th on Monday beating out Canterbury White 62-51 to grab 3rd place! 


The U15 Black boys faced off against the West Coast boys on Sunday afternoon loosing that game 58-74. The boys then played Westland in the afternoon winning that game by a convincing 83-55 point margin. The boys then finished off their tournament with a 77-80 loss to Nelson. 


The U15 Boys Maroon team had Otago first up on Sunday morning where they went down 45-101 to a really strong Otago side. They were back on court in the afternoon and managed to get back on track with a win against Nelson winning that match up 69-57. The boys finished their tournament with a 69-57 win against Nelson on Monday morning and a high scoring 100-73 win over Mid Canterbury.


Our U18 Boys started off on Sunday with a loss to Canterbury Red going down 72-58. The boys then had a really unfortunate loss to Canterbury Black missing out on the finals by 2 points as they fell short 88-90. The boys then finished off their tournament in the 3rd and 4th final on Monday where they bet Otago 72-69 to claim 3rd.


Thank you to all the coaches and managers and whanau that helped out over the duration of the tournament and to all the players and of course our referees! It was so awesome to see so many NCBA faces over the 3 day tournament.
